چکیده

Abstract The impact of droplets on non-fixed spherical particles placed a plane polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) substrate is investigated. This interaction highly abstracted level high-pressure spray cleaning process. Water in diameter range between 0.68 and $$1.66\,{\mathrm{mm}}$$ 1.66 mm with 1.55 mm are used. droplet velocity $$1.05 \le v_{\mathrm{d}} 2.0\,{\mathrm{m/s}}$$ 1.05 ≤ v d 2.0 m / s results Weber number $$13\,\le \,{\mathrm{We}}\,\le \,94$$ 13 We 94 . particle-droplet-substrate interactions investigated for different numbers, droplet-to-particle ratios eccentricities. Different scenarios identified: A—Lift-off during initial recoil; B—Lift-off later C—No Lift-off, deposition the D—No wetting substrate. behavior determined depending particle-to-droplet diameter. Additionally, analysis eccentricity relation to lift-off shows that height duration increases centrality. investigation temporal change half-spread contact angle criterion point time at which takes place. Finally, simplified analytical model provided quantifying probability particle-droplet system after interaction. Experimental used create map occurring regimes terms configuration.

Experimental investigation of the stent-artery interaction.

It is well acknowledged that stent implantation causes abnormal stretch and strains on the arterial wall, which contribute to the formation and progression of restenosis. However, the experimental characterization of the strain field on the stented vessel is scant. In this work, the balloon-expandable stent implantation inside an artery analogue was captured through two high-speed CCD cameras. ...

experimental investigation of reverse fault rupture – rigid shallow foundation interaction

ground differential movements due to faulting have been observed to cause damage to engineered structures and facilities. although surface fault rupture is not a new problem, there are only a few building codes in the world containing some type of provisions for reducing the risks. fault setbacks or avoidance of construction in the proximity to seismically active faults, are usually supposed as...

EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF OFFSHORE WAVE BUOY PERFORMANCE

The important characteristic of sea waves is their high energy density, which is the highest among renewable energy sources. Having up to 2700 km. of shoreline, Iran has a great potential in construction of offshore wave buoys (hereafter called OWB). In this article a OWB model with the possibility of assembling different buoy configurations is introduced. The system is exposed to regular and i...
